PERSONAL PROFILE

I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 45 years’ experience within the construction industry and is a member of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) and the CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building).

With his industry experience across small, medium and large contractors, I am familiar with the on-going challenges of running a construction company. I further understand the need to maximise returns by achieving rightful entitlement upstream whilst at the same time conducting itself properly and fairly with the supply chain.

I offer a flexible approach and personable service which, combined with my vast experience and intimate knowledge of the construction industry, make my service a valuable commodity for clients.

CONSTRUCTION SPECIFIC WORK EXPERIENCE

Director

Freelance consultant / quantity surveyor: working on a range of projects for various clients including main contractors, property developers and sub-contractors. Capital works include but are not limited to:

Assisting a client with upstream valuation of variations on a £65million office refurbishment in Victoria.
Assisting another client over 3 years with overall Surveying duties on variety of contracts including a rolling programme of works on behalf of a pharmaceutical Company based in West London. Works include fit outs of various floors each circa 2,200m2 with and approximate value of £1 million, together with fit outs of various service centres with a total value of circa £0.5 Million carried out in batches of 3- 4 at a time out of hours. My role includes all normal practices of a project surveyor ie financial reporting, and fiscal control both up and down stream.
Projects I’ve been involved in are for varied clients such as House of Lords, Canary Wharf, and Heathrow airport to name a few.
I’ve been involved with carrying out various take offs estimating for a variety of niche / specialist clients.
My experience has been used to specifically provide

Good surveying procedures for new start-up businesses.
Provided in house training for companies in respect of surveying matters and contract procedures.
Provide advice on final accounts
Assist with Commercial Disputes
Formulating loss and expense claims
General commercial duties on a daily basis for a variety of specialist contractors
